Although OS Productions itself is in its infancy, our team has already worked on numerous films, TV, music and radio projects through dialog coaching, voiceover work, translation, production, VIP care, and writing. As such OS Productions is an exciting new venture.

We don’t want to blow our own horns (although our clients include some very good horn players!) and it would be unfair to take advantage of some of the pitfalls of the competition (so we haven’t included their websites!). But, we do believe in ourselves in the same way as you, the creators, believe in yourselves, and so we want you to consider very carefully why you want to choose us over our competition.

We provide exclusive services.

We offer our unique experience and an exclusive methodology for providing foreign actors with Japanese dialog coaching or Japanese actors with foreign language dialog coaching. This includes the nuances of intonation for different roles and moods, dialectical differences and straightforward accent reduction.

We are specialists.

We don’t do translation for scientific journals, we don’t write speeches for politicians, we don’t rewrite for engineering conferences. And yet, among our members we have people who have done all of these things professionally, so if you are making an SF classic, a political thriller or a disaster movie, we have enough experience to give your production the feeling of authenticity you need without making it boring.

We don’t make any special claims.

Looking around the internet leads you into a real minefield of claims. Many companies claim to do ‘any translation in 24 hours’. We don’t. Sometimes, and especially for a piece of art or a labor of love, good work takes time: rewrites, consultations, research. Many companies claim excellent attention to detail when five minutes looking at their websites reveal simple mistakes. We don’t. Our work is proof of our quality. That’s why we offer you a list of some of our clients.

We are a small company.

How is that an advantage? Well, just look at our clients who have chosen to work with us again and again. Entertainment is about communication, and if you want to take time to be an effective communicator you need to work with someone who can get to know some of your idioms, how you work; we offer that personal touch. Similarly, if you want us to take care of your actors for something as simple as a night out in Tokyo, it helps if we know whether they have a seafood allergy!

We have local knowledge but are truly international.

Our team is comprised of both Japanese and international staff with diverse backgrounds, including intimate knowledge of history, colorful working class customs and regional variations in language. This specific knowledge will help in our translations and dialog coaching, or finding you the correct cultural atmosphere for your project. And while we are based in Tokyo, of course we have staff from or based in New York, Los Angeles, and various parts of Britain, Canada, Europe, Asia and Australasia, each with their own body of experience, knowledge of different speech patterns and cultural perspectives.

We have access to a large talent network.

Many keen and talented actors, both young up-and-comers and seasoned vets, get overlooked in Japan by foreign companies casting in Japan, due to Japanese industry monopolization. Also in Japan, you often get non-specific performers drafted as actors, resulting in some characters looking out-of-place in an otherwise Oscar-worthy production.
