Biography

Jim was born on April 8, 1962 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  His lifelong passion has been to jazz-the Frank Sinatra/Patti Page type of jazz.  His first "breakthrough" appearance was when he was 7 years old singing "The First Noel" as the finale of his church's Christmas service.  To make money for university, he wrote four Harlequin Romance novels, and subsequently became an advertising copywriter for which he won an international award.  The popularity of jazz in Japan brought Jim here, and he's made the best of it by winning the Asakusa Jazz Contest and wooing crowds with his smooth vocals and wonderful scat skills.  You've most likely heard Jim on television giving sound logos for companies like Pioneer, Sony, NHK, AU, and Four Seasons Hotel.  You may have slso heard him singing jingles for companies like Glico, Katakichi, Ibonoito Somen, and Mondamin.  In his spare time, Jim works with computers, and donates time to his church and various nonprofit organizations.
